Today metalworking fluids is a market with a lot of trends mainly in the direction of environment, human safety and of course cost saving. The combination of these trends leads to multifunctional, effective and (human and environmentally) safe products.

Kao Chemicals GmbH is producing a product line, which has 25 years’ history the metalworking field.
Since the introduction of AKYPO®s, which are adapted to the needs of the water miscible metalworking fluid producers, the products have been changed, mainly in the direction of purification and optimisation.

Today, the AKYPO® product line is based on vegetable sources. The products fit to the above mentioned trends and the additional properties of the products become even more important.

The main purpose of these products is as a solubiliser or as a co-emulsifier with additional properties such as hard water stability and lime soap dispersing power. The properties of the AKYPO® depend on the alkyl chain and ethoxylation degree. The result is normally a longer emulsion life-time.

Another product line is the AMIDET® TEC series, which are in use as basic non-ionic emulsifier with corrosion inhibiting properties.

Due to the harmonisation between the various KAO factories in Europe, making up KAO Chemicals Europe, the availability of different surfactants for the metalworking industry has been extended, such as ethoxylated alcohols (Findet®), ethoxylated alkyl amines (Amiet®), alkyl amides (Amidet®), etc
