A new technology for flexible package has just landed.

Kao Chemicals has developed a new concept for digital printing of flexible packaging with compact laser printers. This development is the 2021 winner of the Environmental Technology Award of the Japanese Chemical Industry Association.

Main advantatges:

Today, small size variable design jobs are not suitable to available film printers. Thanks to Kao’s new toner, affordable digital printing is now possible for low-volume production runs, without drying steps, and on thin polymer substrates. Kao’s LUNATONE toner is also suitable for wide format printers.

LUNATONE is ultra-low-temperature fusing toner compatible with many different polymer substrates such as Polypropylene (PP), HDPE, and PET. The toners provide high-colour saturation and exceptional image quality with resistance to water and alcohol.

Thanks to this new toner, affordable digital printing of low-volume production runs with no drying steps is possible, therefore, also suitable for wide format printers.
